Background and Histroy
Pragya Chakshu Balbatika (PCB) is a social development organization of people with disability sector, registered in the Kathmandu District Administration Office in 2000 A.D. The organization was born from a shared vision of experienced Nepali persons with disability and those people who have long serve of same group and sectors. We believe that the needs and problems of persons with disability are inter-related, and therefore must be addressed as an integral issue in order to find sustainable solutions. PCBB’s aim is to mobilize and empower poor disabled groups and their family as well as concerned authority through partnership with local groups, government organization working in the target areas and zone. It can collaborate and make assistance with mutually understanding person or organization through all over the world.
PCB is registered of Tax deductive as an organization from the Nepal Government Tax Office (Inland Revenue Office, Nepal). Now PCB has been working in Kathmandu, Kavre and Dolkha Districts, although it had already permission to work all over the Nepal.
PCB has been working in different part of Nepal as advocasy, awarness rising, service delivery and many more activities since its estiblishment. PCB emphasize right based approach activities and preference will be given in roleplay from target groups and persons.
Pragya Chakshu Balbatika (PCB) strives to promote the holistic development of communities we serve, keeping in mind the physical, social, economic and needs of the people, especially persons with disability.
To facilitate the target groups and communities in order to:
- Increase the level of persons with disability’s awareness and skills for better livelihood.
- Organize and empower target group to improve their basic services.
- Improve the life status and quality of life of the people with disability.
- Recommend and involve developing local infra-structure for fellowship disability.
- Enhance self-esteem, love and harmonious relationships to each other.
PCB envisions a peaceful Nepali society where all people can fulfil their basic needs and live in love and harmony with each other.
